Art Nouveau in Turku

In reaching Turku (the Finnish name) it was interesting to note that we were moving out of the area where places use their Swedish name first (the Swedish name for Turku is Åbo).

This was our first exposure to Finland's generous spread of art nouveau architecture, or Jugendstil as they call it. Turku is a European Capital of Culture 2011, and this building houses the 2011 office and information centre.
