Monday 29 August 2011: Plumbing
Old water pipes eventually deteriorate and begin to leak underground. The homeowner notices a funny sound, or damp ground, or an astronomical water bill. A friend is called who enjoys this sort of thing, and he has a high old time discovering the spouting split corroded pipe; he leaves muddy and happy. We begin calling plumbers. Tomorrow, if we are lucky, we may be able to shower again.
It was just too grim to post a picture of the muddy trench and piles of dirt and displaced roses.
