Tuesday 30 August 2011: New Growth

I visited the burned out forest again this afternoon and was heartened to find a tiny amount of green amongst the blackness. I'm not sure what this pioneer species is but it was one of several.
The floor was littered with a strange brown fungus that I've never seen before.
