Tuesday 30 August 2011: 'ello!

I noticed a speck of yellow on the butterfly bush. At first I thought it was some leaf crud, but it somehow looked a little too ... deliberate, I guess. Like it was holding on to the leaf. So, macro-ring to the rescue!
And sure enough, it was a bug. Something in the order of hemiptera? Though that seems entirely too big a name for this itty bitty that, at best, measured about 5mm.

It looked up at me, waved*,let me take photos for a bit and then turned its butt towards me. Photo-shoot over.

Anyone know what it is exactly? It seemed friendly enough. And by that I mean it didn't immediately tried to suck my blood :/

*What? It could happen.

Thank you, for the loveliness yesterday. It helped :)
