Sgwarnog: In the Field

Muted Evening Colours

Nothing more exciting on my first day back at work, than a quick walk out onto the moor as the light was fading.

Here's the view to the east, over Baildon toward Leeds and the Yorkshire Plain, with a pink tinge to the sky opposite the sun, which has already descended behind the moor. A little bit of the gorse and heather colour remains, although it would be more striking in full sun.

I needed a flash to bring the foreground colour out. If you peer carefully into the gloom you'll pick out our house somewhere.

Even in a short stroll I managed to scare up some grouse, sensibly hanging out on a non-shooting moor, and a pair of Stonechats that I haven't seen for a few months.
