Library hibiscus

This lovely yellow hibiscus is part of a flowering tree version outside the Aurora Public Library. I was there to pick up a newly-acquired copy of America Walks into a Bar: A Spirited History of Taverns and Saloons, Speakeasies and Grog Shops which sounds fascinating. Even more interesting was that is was written by YorkU PhD student Christine Sismondo.

I had a strange encounter today. At the graduate students meet & greet for my Science & Technology Studies Program one new master's student, upon enquiry into his family name, Italian and a bit rare, is the son of a former elementary school chum and classmate of mine from the 1970s! Small world.
