If you go down to the woods today ..

In the shady area of the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, I discovered these extraordinary pods a good 3 inches long. They are from the Podophyllum hexandrum plant. Another plant adjacent had a bright red pod. Apparently these pods are edible but "insipid"


Just wonderful!

I love the Botanics - something to discover what ever time of year it is.
