Grand Central Hotel

So, following on from yesterday, today we are inside the Grand Central Hotel. This evening I was meeting Mrs L for a most excellent catch up supper and we decide that, on the back of yesterdays Blip we would try the Champagne bar.

They have done a splendid job or restoring the building inside and the bar was a wonderful place, and overall quite relaxing. A cold bottle of Prosecco went down very well along with the excellent company.

The inside of the bar has some splendid decoration, especially in terms of the lighting. This was also true of the main stairwell. Family vote picked this shot and it's of the main stairwell.

I think that in a lot of places this lighting fixture would not fit in, but strangely. along with the more Victoriana look of the rest of the hotel, really works well.

Anyway the hotel is well worth a visit for a wee dram. If you are looking for somewhere for dinner after your drink I cam recommend Jamie's Kitchen by George Square. we stopped in for supper and it too was outstanding
