World, meet Audrey

Day 7: Stage 7 - Castel de Vergio to Refuge de Manganu

Today, on paper was an easy stage... and the way Ben and I felt when we woke up, we needed all the rest we could get!

The day started on a narrow but mercifully level and firm wooded path that followed the contour of a steep valley. As the sun came up through the trees, we realised that Ben and I were not the only ones on the GR20 that morning.

We came face to face with Audrey - a very pointy, but photogenic Corsican cow... Unfortunately, Mrs Kerrigan my high school french teacher failed me again, and I just didn't have the negotiating skills to talk my way past this particular obstacle!

If you can't go over it, you can't go round it, and you can't go through it... you have a problem!

In the end, jumping up and down and making a lot of noise, we herded the lady along to a clearing where we found Manuel.

The Bull.

How fast can a tired 27 year old run with 25kg on his back? We don't know, but didn't fancy finding out either, so very VERY carefully in a very VERY manly fashion side stepped around the happy couple in a VERY big circle and carried on our way!
