Friday 9 September 2011: Walliams vs The Thames Day 5
An update from me on David Walliams' Sports Relief Challenge. I've been tracking him for a couple of days & he was due near my village today. As he is a little behind schedule & I'm not around tomorrow me, three friends & 8 children went and hunted him down today after school. He was at Hurley which is a favourite spot of our's. They say there were 300 people there & I believe it. It was such a lovely atmosphere. We'd made a banner which local press kept on taking photos of along with our children.
When the man himself came along there was a big cheer. As he swam by us he gave us a thumbs up - which I didn't manage to blip! He stopped to change his ripped wetsuit so we stood and waited. he came out & said 'Lovely poster. Thank you very much. What a gentleman.
He is doing an amazing swim for a great cause - so do sponsor him or cheer him on!
Oh and no wonder he has Thames Tummy - he needs to learn to swim with his mouth closed.....
