9/11

It's going to be hard to think about anything else today.

My sister, who was and is a firefighter in San Francisco said that everyone
on 9/11 fueled up the trucks and went back to their Firehouses.

No-one left for any reason. No-one.

She said they were as shocked and as white-faced as anyone else, glued to the TV.
It was felt that one of the major structures in the Bay area could have been next.
They were on high alert for weeks. She says she can hardly remember eating or anything now, looking back.

I was just grateful that my sister had settled in San Francisco, and not New York.
