Friday 9 May 2008: My first "date"
Last night my older brother took me to a Dar Williams concert!
It was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, he was embarrassed when I was trying to take pictures in the concert hall and asked me to stop. ::sigh::
Non-blippers just don't understand.
So I instead had to take pictures of the trip home.
My brother and I...have not always been the best of friends. But now that he's off in college, we've found certain things that we have in common. And I guess, he's a lot easier to get along with when you don't have to live in the same house as him! haha.
Anyway, going to this concert with him was just so sweet. He even held my hand during one of the songs! It was so cute! I always expected that a boy would do that when I went on my first date, but I guess it just goes to show...the people who love you the most will always be your family. You don't have to look very far to find love. It would do me good to remember that.
As for Dar Williams, I was shocked by how much I loved her! She is an incredible performer and songwriter- One of the most down-to-earth people you could ever hope to meet. I could picture getting together with her and discussing music, boys, and the environment over some fair-trade coffee. I loved her music. I am certain that I shall be using some of her lyrics to accompany my blips in the future.
