Hiding in plain sight

The beauty of a daily challenge is that it starts to open your eyes to all the little things that you?d miss from day to day. In this case, I look out on to this scene from my kitchen window every day. Today I looked out at just the right time, and the shadow on the wall seemed to tie the various elements together, telling you why the cat chose this exact spot to sunbathe. The shadow formed a strong diagonal composition within the brick area, leading your eye to the moggy, and changing the scene entirely. The shadow only lasted for a few moments, so it was reassuring to know that the 18-270 meant that I was able to frame the shot correctly (choosing a focal length of more-or-less 80mm) before the clouds flattened the lighting. It?s like choosing the right lens from five or six already on the camera.
