Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

It rained today.......

Our long walk today was a circular from Haltwhistle and going out to Scotch Coulthard, north of Hadrian's Wall. It is always quite boggy. Today the rain came earlier than we had hoped and going was tough. Unusually we took the decision to turn back before we reached our goal (no one was too bothered, especially those whose waterproofs were found wanting!)

We saw a lot of healthy looking cattle today; mainly suckling herds. Just before Cawfields Quarry we met a herd of bullocks. They were very funny because they all stayed very still and stared at us. I was sure that one would make a break for it as we walked close to them. I was wrong. This one caught my attention for today's blip.

I did take a few photos of wet walkers, but I know they would not appreciate being blipped when they look bedraggled (and we all looked bedraggled).

Met a nice Californian chap called Mark in the pub. He is visiting the area and doing some walking. He was very cheerful despite the weather.
