Someone change the bulb

My wonderful husband brought me a pressie today. A bulb of black garlic. I had seen one on masterchef or chopped or something cookingy I'd seen recently and when we saw it he decided to treat me. Some women go weak-kneed for flowers - I go weak-kneed for cookery items even though I don't cook as much as I would like.

So the garlic is very odd - it's cloves are black and sticky and almost like molasses. It smells kind of smokey but sweet and that's how it tastes too. I used it on the steak we had for tea and in the mushroom/onion/creamy sauce I made and it brought a lovely subtle flavour.
