Relay for Life

I spent the night at a cancer charity fundraiser called "Relay for Life". The idea is to have a team that keeps somebody walking on a track for 24 hours straight because cancer never sleeps. This is the Luminaria ceremony, to honor those that have died of cancer (each balloon represents a person). The whole event was moving, but way fun at the same time. My friends and I stayed awake until 6 in the morning (no naps, whatsoever) then crashed until about 10. We sang karaoke (people have to pay if they want you to stop), ate a ton of food, got our faces painted, danced, and of course walked the track. It was almost more like a carnival than a cancer fundraiser, but fundraise it did. Our team alone raised about 3,000 dollars, and there were hundreds more people there.
