Looks Good To Me

Lunch With a View

On our first trip to the Languedoc region of France in 2000, C and I rented houses in two different villages a few miles apart. One of the rentals was managed by Christopher Campbell-Howes, a retired English headmaster living in the village where the other house was located.

It was the beginning of a warm friendship with Christopher and his wife Josephine. At the time, Christopher was directing the local village choir and a smaller chamber choir, Les Jeudistes (because they rehearsed on Thursdays), with members from England, France, and several other European countries.

C and I sat in on choir rehearsals during some of our later visits. On one memorable trip we performed with both choirs in concerts. We'd learned our parts in advance and had just one rehearsal with the choirs before the concerts.

Christopher and Josephine treated us to lunch today at an excellent restaurant, Fleurs d'Olargues, run by a Danish couple. We dined outdoors and enjoyed this view with our conversation and a splendid meal.
