Emily Wright

Next door to my mum there is an old cemetery. It is now classed as a nature reserve (owls, bats, squirrels, mice, who knows what else).

One of the headstones is that of Emily Wright, maiden name Pepper. She was born in 1818 and died at the age of 65 on the 12th of February 1883. She lived in Skirbeck with her husband William Wright whom she married in 1839. Also buried with her is he niece, Emma. She was born in 1842 and died in 1858. She was only sixteen years old.

Sadly we didn't find out any more about either of them, nor why Emma was buried with her aunt, we can only think they must have died around the same time.

When I walked back inside after taking the photo (I got one of the geese too!) Look North was advertising one of the local radio stations. Presented by William Wright. I thought this was a bit spooky.
