Thursday 6 October 2011: Farrer's
Today's the day .......................... for a smell blip
I've often thought that, if you had the technology, it would be quite possible to do a sound equivalent of a blip picture. You know - something that you heard that made you stop and listen or somehow summed up the day?
In the same way - the above really should have been a smell blip because it was taken inside Farrer's Tea & Coffee Shop in the centre of Kendal. You will just have to imagine the wonderful aroma of freshly ground coffee that surrounded me! The building dates from around 1688 and was originally a private house. The floor boards still creak as you walk over them.
The choice of teas and coffees is immense. Farrers have been roasting and grinding their own beans since 1853.................
