The End Is Not Nye

1.45 p.m. Westminster Bridge, London

Apologies to start with for that appalling headline. Maybe, I have a future career as an headline writer for a tabloid.

Sadly, if you followed the mainstream media yesterday, it was likely you never even saw or heard anything of the occupation of Westminster Bridge as the news once more fixated on a McCartney bride.

A little more may have had to do that this was well attended and completely peaceful protest, overseen by a Metropolitan police who have clearly learnt some lessons from earlier this year and even seemed sympathetic to the cause. No doubt thinking towards the future and when we will be marching to protect cuts to the force.

What made the day extra special was seeing once more twitter's @HeardinLondon and meeting the exceptional @mattleys. Both of them have tirelessly campaigned to promote and help save the NHS for many months. To quote Nye Bevan and tosee so many people with such fight, we shall always have an NHS.

P.S. If anyone would like to see further photographs from the event, take a look here.
