Wednesday 12 October 2011: Offspring

It seems all that 'frolicking' the Cabbage Whites did recently has been fruitful; my leftover 'boerenkool' (kale) is swarming with caterpillars. I only found out because one was waiting for me on the porch when I went outside and when I sort of guessed what he would like to eat, I found a whole colony.
And lice.
And a ladybird.
It seems my kale is the new popular hang out for all the cool kids.

Nobody tried to kill me today, and I didn't try to kill anyone either.
It was a good day.
