Thursday 13 October 2011: Discobolos
I brought back this little statue of the Greek Discuss Thrower from Rhodes. Its a very iconic Greek statue although the original in bronze from circa 460-450 BC was lost. A marble replica is I believe held in an Italian Museum.
Rather than a straight shot of the statue I wanted to add something to it. I chose this background and I also added some motion Blur to give the impression he was actually in the process of throwing. Didn't quite get exactly what I had intended, but it was done in a bit of a rush (well that's my excuse!).
