Monday 17 October 2011: Olympus OM 50mm f/1.8
A couple of years back I bought a few Olympus OM lenses (for old film SLR cameras) and adaptors to play with them on my modern Olympus E series digital SLR.
They are fun to play with, but modern SLR viewfinders (especially the smaller ones on 4/3 cameras) aren't ideal for manual focus, and the lenses are way short of the resolution and quality of modern digital lenses. I have little enough time to play with cameras anyway, so these have spent a lot of time in the cupboard.
I took some photos of them tonight with the intention of putting them on eBay - although they are well made and enjoyable to use, so I might not get round to actually selling them. We'll see...
