From the beginning

Floodwaters

This is the Ashley River tonight in flood, it only generally happens about once or twice a year but we have only seen a flood like tonight about 4 times over the last 7 years. Last year it had to undergo major repairs as it had sunk, it means that if the river floods they close the bridge and we have a 20 km detour to get 200 metres, the upside is that when the road is closed we effectively become a very quite cul de sac with our own private guard at the end of the street. Last time we had a street party with the neighbours in the middle of the road...

It has been the wettest most miserable wet and cold day today, most of the windows in our new work premises are leaking and we have leaking roofs both upstairs and downstairs, they just don't build places like they used to but as long as it doesn't fall over in an earthquake thats all that matters:-)

The funny thing about tonights shot is that by the time i had coaxed our son into walking down the river with me the sun was shining and you can just catch the sunlight in the picture.

Hoping that tomorrow turns out to be the predicted 25 degrees and we can start the road to summer.
