Architecture

Keeping up with the themes of woollyhedge's On This Day in October Challenge (today linked to the opening of the Sydney Opera House), this piece of architecture is Street's Crispin Hall, named after the patron saint of shoemakers and opened on October 12th 1885 to improve the cultural facilities for Clark's employees. It provided art classes, talks on educational subjects and a reading room.

Now, as well as a cafe and various small businesses there's an interesting collection of photos of Street, dating back to the 19th Century.

Today's Indian back blip is of Kumarakom
