Rawlplug

One photo today. I am full of the cold...coughing my spleen up...

Discovered that the rawlplug was invented by John Joseph Rawlings 100 years ago this year, to help put that newfangled electric wiring into old buildings. Previously they had to chisel out a big hole and stick in a lump of wood to hold the screw; he invented a hemp-fibre plug.
Hats off to an unsung hero of DIY!
