This is Rome

Another junk shop find; Royal Doulton fine china made especially for BA's Concorde, depicting different cities, this one is Rome.
My dad and I were once driving somewhere or other and he took us on a detour refusing to let me know where we were going - 'you'll see' he said.
we parked beside a wire fence on a small hardly used side road around Heathrow and all of a sudden there was this amazing roar and Concorde raced by taking off - it was all so quick and i got such a surprise it was a bit of a blurr but very exciting.
I was very sad when the terrible accident happened, it must have been unbelievably frightening for all the people, and such losses.
And the end of Concorde too. I know it was not very good for the environment and very un-cost effective, but i am glad it once existed and i hope one day someone invents an aircraft which is environmentally friendly somehow, and a lot quieter.
