Thursday 27 October 2011: Detail

I know it doesn't make sense to have a telescope in the city but it's very exciting anyway. And given that our terrace has a kind of Rear Window aspect, if I ever break my legs I can keep an eye on Raymond Burr.

Today started badly. I got on the 10 minute late train and was ready for going to work. What I got was a 30 minute wait just outside Mainz Kastel. After which our train turned into the politest train in Germany, it was all "No please, we'll wait here and you can go first", all the way to Frankfurt. It took a LOT longer than the usual 40 minutes.

I wouldn't have minded so much but I was sat next to a sigher and a mutterer, He accompanied every announcement with a huge exasperated sigh and a, no doubt hilariously cutting, remark under his breath. That got boring quite quickly.

Work was work. And I'm quite good at that.
