The Twisted Tree

The photo of this twisted tree is in response to conversation around this blip & blog entitled The Corkscrew Hornbeam.

I have passed this tree for years, both when it was alive and now that it is dead. The tree featured by Lathyrus Odoratus (who posts great blips of fungi mostly) made me start to think about twisted trees in general and of the several twisted trees that I have seen in my life; the one noted above being a spectacular specimen.
