Friday 4 November 2011: Fly Tying

Continuing on the fishing theme, now winter and the season for trout fishing has finished, anglers turn their hand to tying flies.
Here's a rather wonderful setup for tying small flies. The fly you see is tied on a a size 20 hook, which in normal language translates to a 1/4" in size.
Hence the need of a magnifying glass and light to aid the tying of it.
The fly on show is an imitation of a cluster of very small midges and can be deadly when the fish are feeing on extremely small flies and proving impossible to catch..
