Saturday 5 November 2011: Another protest

There has been a small protest outside the Royal Society of British Architects from some years now. I'd never bothered to find out what it was about having assumed it was someone complaining about modernist building practices.

Today in line with the general mood of protest, the group had swollen and included people doing what looked like Tai Chi.

Upon Googling Falun Gong, I discovered it to be a spiritual practice, initiated in China, with meditation and exercise as one of its central tenets. The Chinese Government object to it.

It was only when I looked across the road that I understood the significance of its positioning. Across the road from RIBA is the Embassy of the People's Republic of China.
