Cutting

This morning we went to our son's farm where he was holding a Cutting workshop event.
Sam is the one in the background.
It is a Western riding event, and the horses used are Quarter horses.

The idea is to seperate a beast from the herd and you and your horse have to work hard at not letting it back to the main mob, which believe me they do not like being seperated.
A bit like calf roping it all stems from the ranch way of farming on the big ranges in America and other places.

Then this afternoon we have been out to an 80th Birthday Party!
