Monday 7 November 2011: Junior Bake Off

Boy blip yesterday, girl blip today! Anna has another(!) inset day, while poor Matt had to leave for school in the cold drizzle at 7.45am.

Anna's favourite shows are Blue Peter, Art Attack and Junior Bake Off. A day in the house generally involves cake mix or glitter/paint. Mess freaks me out, so I let her make chocolate fudge brownies this afternoon - keeps it confined to the kitchen!

She's good at following instructions (though she doesn't understand the 'stop talking or Mummy's going to have a breakdown' one) so I let her get on with mixing up stuff while I made spaghetti bolognese - Matt's favourite. Compensation for going to school while his sister stayed in her pj's...


Have been reminded that we have my friend Paula's '70's/80's Christmas fancy dress 40th birthday' to go to in a few weeks. Any low-cost, low-effort ideas that don't involve dressing as one of Slade? Help!
