Au Revoir to Portsoy

It was an early goodbye to a very different Portsoy from yesterday.
Today it was grey and cold when we left, but we found the sun again in Elgin and a lunch date with son#1

We lost it once more on the road south just after seeing the Cairngorms bathed in sunshine, save for the high tops, shrouded in a fluffy blanket of clouds.

Driving through the pass of Drumochter, the Monadhliaths disappeared in a gloomy murk and we were suddenly enveloped in a premature, cloud induced twilight at 3 o'clock, with the only brightness a ribbon of car headlights snaking north like a giant glowworm.

Much as we enjoy our holiday breaks, it's good to be home again with our memories.
