The Way It Is

There's a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn't change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can't get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time's unfolding.
You don't ever let go of the thread.

Another shining Indian Summer day with morning light and reflections of red and orange everywhere. Up until this week, the foliage has been so disappointing with hurricane and insect damage taking a huge toll. Suddenly this week the invasive Burning Bushes and Bittersweet vines rule the yard with flaming colors. Ornamental maples with leaves of orange and red shine. A few of the Norway Maples flash some brilliant yellows. Early morning and falling evening light accentuate the glow, it's gorgeous at last.

For the Record,
This day came in slightly frosty with lovely light and rising temperatures.
