The Blue Mountains

Hiring bikes from Katoomba provided an adventurous introduction to the Blue Mountains on a very warm and sunny day. There are some mighty big hills (mountains no?!) around here and we found many of them along our route. Flies plagued us all of the way but they didn't stop us enjoying spectacular views across the canyons.

The mountains have a blue tinge due to the vapor released by the gum trees, you can often smell the eucalyptus in the air.

There was nothing quite so good as the ice lolly I had when we got back and the nice cold shower.
