Take off, eh!
Linda and I drove to London (Ontario) today on several errands. We lived there for nine years and now our niece Lindsey lives there with her long-time beau Kurtis so we had a visit to their apartment in the afternoon. First, we picked up Lindsey to tour a few Christmas bazaars at some of the churches downtown. Lovely stuff. Cookies, pear preserves, jams, and other nice things. We also showed Lindsey to a few of our regular haunts: Melrose Bakery (the most heavenly Danishes to be had on Earth), Trail's End Farmer's Market (for me, pepperettes and a smoked bacon slab for Dutch Pea Soup, Mike's Meat Market (a fab Dutch deli), and Sifton Bog (which Linda and I have blipped before).
The plane shown here is a Katana, if memory serves, made by Diamond Aircraft and are used as trainers.
"Take off, eh!" is a Canadian expression popularized by fictitious brothers Bob and Doug McKenzie of SCTV fame (played by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, respectively) (wiki) - classic hosers. I have a copy of that LP signed by Dave.
UPDATE: News reports on 14 November 2011 state the company has just been sold.
