Sunday 13 November 2011: Coniston Water
After hot power showers (our home shower is frustratingly feeble - the hotel one was much appreciated!) and full English breakfasts we were ready to go again.
Ambleside is beautiful. An autumn Sunday morning was a lovely time to be there. The only downer being that Matt decided to playfully rugby tackle his dad, without realising Paul had his decent sunglasses in his jacket pocket. Smash.
After a couple of hours walking, we drove to Coniston Water. We had tea/coffee/fizzy stuff in the funky glass fronted Bluebird Cafe, right on the water's edge. Anna paddled (as you can see here) Paul fell off the stepping stones and Matt found a Very Big Stick. What is it with boys and sticks? I played with my camera, of course.
Back into Ambleside then, to pick up nice bread and soup for dinner at home later. After another three hours in the car there's no way I'm cooking tonight!
