Wednesday 16 November 2011: Late Afternoon

Our kiwis are ready to harvest--nice big fruit this year, and just in time to replace the last of the pears. Raked up a huge pile of orange leaves from beneath the persimmon tree this morning; no one seems to have a good crop this year--fruit is sparse and not ripening. This growing business is so unpredictable, and I am always glad that we have our garden for fun and don't rely on it to make a living.
