Saturday 19 November 2011: Finally
The coveted Cubs sweatshirt for Hollow Jnr Snr has finally been purchased!
She used to be a Brownie, but a lot of her freinds defected to a cub unit after a few weeks and she followed. Can't blame her, Brownies seemed quite antiquated in its approach and didn't seem to be instilling any sense of fun or development. I kept my opinions to myself though, as she seemed to be enjoying it. However, once she said she didn't want to go any more and wanted to try cubs I was overjoyed. She's done a few trial weeks (I had spent out on quite a few items of the Brownie uniform and didn't want a repeat) and from the onset been building fires, made slime, designed a switch, made a Chinese lamp, made a toffee apple and other such things. For her, a lot better.
The only thing holding back her investiture was the ownership of a sweatshirt, I didn't want to buy online as I would have inevitably got the wrong size. So, today we took a long walk from where we park the car for Sheffield United to visit the Scout Shop. Job done.
A roast pork bap (for her) and roast pork-filled giant Yorkshire pudding (for me) on the way to the stadium was nicely rounded off with a 1-0 win for the Blades.
A good Saturday all round. Hope yours are equally as fruitful :)
