Sunday 20 November 2011: From Ingleborough

Why, as humans, is beauty important? Does this perhaps almost define the human spirit - is there anyonme to whom beauty is not importamt? And what, when it comes down to it, is beauty? Is it purely visual - I doubt it somehow. And is it beauty the makes you gasp when you turn to see the light catch the top of an inversion - or is this something separate, and akin to wonder? This was a morning to make one ponder such things, and the place of man in this world...
