Monday 21 November 2011: Requiem
They took down another tree in the neighborhood today--a big drooping willow that hung over the creek in the next block. I've always appreciated that this area had a lot of tall older trees, but we are losing too many--there is less and less to engage the upward eye. So, a moment of silence to honor that magnificent creature that tickled the tops of our heads as we passed by, and rustled so beautifully in the slightest breeze...
