Water Rail
Today we headed into Kent for the Glossy Ibis at Stodmarsh and the Snow Buntings at Reculver. There wasn't a Glossy Ibis at Stodmarsh nor any Snow Buntings at Reculver, but we did find this Water Rail soaking up the rays. There's nothing that a Water Rail likes more than getting out in the sun to top up its tan.
I suppose there are some out there who tend to believe what I write, for them I'll point out that a Water Rail is actually an exceedingly reclusive bird that is seldom seen in the open and tends to skulk away in deep undergrowth. Now you have a dilemma! Which to believe! I know check out Wiki, you can always believe Wiki.
