Friday 25 November 2011: Don't take my...

Too late!

Does she not realise the way that blipping works yet? I brandish my camera at all sorts of times and anyone who's in front of it tends to get blipped.

And today... it was Maddy's turn as I arrived back from school with the kids and she was lurking outside the front door berating me for holding the camera and not opening the door. *evil cackle*

Today has been that kind of day though. Have been grumped at several times and managed to be both grumper and grumpee on other occasions. For example, at 6am this morning, I was making fairy cakes for Felix to take in to school as he wanted to take in some cakes to share (update: and apparently they never did get shared out so what I was doing making cakes at stupid o'clock I have even less idea!). Fine. No problem. I have no icing so I decide to make them into Queen cakes and add some currants. I have only 23 cake cases... so I make 23 cakes.

'You didn't put raisins in, did you?', grumps Felix as he appears for breakfast.

'No', I say, hiding the packet of currants and wondering why I bothered.

'There are 24 children in his class, you're one short'

'I only had 23 paper cases' *through gritted teeth*

Maybe there's something in the air? Sometimes no matter what you say, someone always wants to misinterpret it and roll with the consequences of doing that. Everyone does that at some points, but it definitely feels like some people have it as their specialist subject sometimes!

Plus I managed to burn my finger while I made some butter tablet for the kids' Advent Fayre tomorrow. *sobs*

Ah well, weekend tomorrow. I survived the week. Which means I get bonus points from whoever is giving those out.

PS Also made some chocolate fudge today
PPS If ever there's a show called 'The Grumpy Cook', I'll be auditioning...
