Friday 1 September 2006: Elephant Bells
This cool lookin' guys are only made in India and are hung from elephants for several reasons including; decorations during festivals, to enable the Mahouts to locate their animals in the jungle, and elephants are unable to sneak up on you with the bells on. You obviously don't want an elephant to sneak away from you nor do you want to lose em in the jungle. I just like the sustained chime-like sound. They can add a very fun and ethereal effect to new age chamber groups!
