Surfin' Santa

Rain or shine, Santa arrives on the beach every year in the nearby village of Capitola. Paddling reindeer and an assortment of elves escort him to his throne on the bandstand where long lines of children are ready with their impossible demands. It was really hard to stay cynical amid all that cuteness and excitement--it was a gorgeous warm sunny day and I was munching on a nice juicy slice of pizza from Pizza My Heart and thoroughly enjoying the whole scene. I didn't even get any pepperoni on my camera.

Today is my father's birthday--he would have been 102. It's funny how we still say things like that; he's been dead many many years now and hardly anybody is 102, but he woulda coulda been. Happy Birthday Tony.
