Monday 28 November 2011: Wince... ouch...
640/365: ... this shot brought to you courtesy of 'Sarah's black and blue hand' photography...
This is the best I could do. Set up tripod. Set the focus. Set the shutter speed and aperture. Set the timer. Press the shutter. Stand back. All done with my left hand as my right hand is a bit of a wreck.
I managed to stumble on the stairs at work this morning, caught myself from going completely head over heels (onto concrete - scary moment!), and in doing so wrenched my shoulder, bashed my arm and am now sporting some lovely swollen black fingers. Yowch!
What a Mondayish start to my Monday. And started off with very little sleep due to waking in the night with an almighty migraine.
Also, lots of meetings today and taking notes was a lesson in 'why it's not good to bruise your right hand when you're a right hander', then got home to an empty house as because of all my meetings, I couldn't leave early to get to the children's Advent Festival thing at school. Which was a big fat boo hiss as I was really looking forward to it. When everyone else eventually got home, Felix was utterly broken and has managed a bit of flailing about and crying. Maddy's a tad hyper and excited - but... again... miraculously joined in with things! This is the worst thing about being a working parent. Missing the lovely bits of what your children do.
Nick recorded some of it on his phone, but it makes me too sad to watch what I couldn't get to see (and it's all lovely and magical with candles, singing and prettiness), so I've only seen a bit of it. :o(
Right. Off to get painkillers and collapse in a heap.
PS As Mondays go, this one was a doozy
