Wednesday 30 November 2011: Hanging Around...

...because the teachers are on strike and the schools are closed.

Matthew in 'actually smiling at a camera shocker!' He's a shallow boy...I'd just bought him chocolate cake and the new XBox 360 magazine. Think he knew he'd not done badly today ;) And yes, those jeans are too short. He's 5 ft 5 now, and rapidly outgrowing everything he owns.

This was taken on the green opposite our street. There's often a monkey-type-child up in the huge old trees or dangling from the branches. We'd attempted Christmas shopping. By that, I mean walking into WHSmiths, buying Matt's magazine, and stomping out in a fluster after getting shoved and trodden on by women with armfuls of Christmas tat presents. We hid in Costa for a bit (the creme brulee cupcakes are HORRIBLE by the way, I'm sticking to biscuits) then decided we couldn't face it. Back home for a swing on the trees, ten minutes with the camera and a cup of tea. I'll do it all on Amazon. Later.
