Wednesday 30 November 2011: Meeting Of Minds

6 p.m. Haymarket, London.

Sadly, I missed the main march the historic Public Sector Strike March, so I was left with the usual sight of police lines and kettled protestors.

So, it was nice to find this lovely moment between a Metropolitan police Sargeant and a protestor who were discussing the evils of capitalism and the need for reform with our society. It was a fine moment of mutual understanding within a fractious situation.

Only thirty minutes later the coaches were filled with the kettled protestors on Panton Street and a thick flourescent line was descending upon a line of protestors pushing them back to the bottom of Haymarket and the moment was lost. But, I hope those connections can be rekindled.
