I was waiting for my oats to be cooked. I adulterate it with milk and honey.
In my youth I would eat two huge bowls full each morning after the paper round and before running for the bus to school. Scott's porridge oats. Now the fashion is for steel cut oats in the Irish style ... here in the States anyway.

Dr. Johnson, in his famous dictionary, was rather scathing:
